Demos

Bill of Materials

kit

  • 1 x Arduino with cable
  • 1 x Servo
  • 1 x IR Sensor
  • 1 x Small Box
  • 1 x Pingpong ball
  • 6 x wires

Build Steps

1. Connect a jumper wire from the Orange wire of the servo to pin 7 of the Arduino.

step 1

2. Connect a jumper wire from the Red wire of the servo to pin 5v of the Arduino.

step 2

3. Connect a jumper wire from the brown wire of the servo to one of the GND pins on the Arduino.

step 3

4. Connect a jumper wire from the out pin of the ir motion sensor to pin 8 of the Arduino.

step 4

5. Connect a jumper wire from the GND pin of the ir motion sensor to pin GND of the Arduino.

step 5

6. Connect a jumper wire from the VCC pin of the ir motion sensor to pin 3.3v of the Arduino.

step 6

7. Write the code and make sure the servo moves when you put something in front of it.

8. Take your box and lay it open on the table.

step 8

9. Tape up the sides of the box.

step 9

10. Cut hole into box so that the pingpong ball can fit into it.

step 10

11. Cut a flap in the box for the servo.

step 10

12. Tape the servo motor to the flap and use way more tape than what is in the picture.

step 11

13. Test the servo motor and ensure that it works.

14. Attach the sensor to the box so that it is pointing up at the whole.

step 13

15. Test out the step and make sure it works with the ball.

16. Create the flag

step 16

17. Attach the flag to the wooden dowel.

step 17

18. Attach plastic servo horn to the wooden dowel. Besure the it is facing the correct way so that when the flag up you see the front of it.

step 18

18. Tape the sides and bottom ramp of the box.

step 19

19. Test it out.
